Lidex Ointment is a prescription medication that is used to treat skin conditions including skin irritation, skin rashes, and psoriasis. Lidex Ointment contains a very strong corticosteroid fluocinonide ointment. Fluocinonide works by reducing swelling, itching, and irritation.

• Lidex Ointment should only be applied to the skin.
• Wash your hands before and after using Lidex Ointment unless you are using the medication to treat your hands.
• Clean and dry the affected area before applying Lidex Ointment.

• Do not cover the affected area with a bandage or dressing.
• Do not apply Lidex to skin that is damaged, scraped, or cut.

• Burning or stinging
• Dry skin
• Itching

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of fluocinonide:

• Skin irritation
• Skin thinning
• Skin changes including slow healing, stretch marks, pimples, or hair growth
• Signs of Cushing’s disease such as severe headache, slow healing, moon face, or weight gain in the upper back
• Signs of high blood sugar such as fast breathing, tiredness, confusion, frequent urination, hunger, increased thirst, fruity breath odor, or flushing
• Signs of a weak adrenal gland including vomiting, upset stomach, severe dizziness, passing out, muscle weakness, mood changes, severe tiredness, lack of hunger, or weight loss
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat

What should I do if I miss a dose of Lidex Ointment?

If you miss a dose of Lidex Ointment, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
