This medication works by relaxing the blood vessels in the lungs, which makes it easier for blood to flow to the lungs. If the blood pressure is decreased in the lungs,then the heart and lungs do not have to work as hard and your ability to exercise is increased.

Tadalafil can cause a drop in blood pressure when used with nitrates. Do not use this drug with any drugs used to treat chest pain (nitroglycerin) and recreational drugs that contain amyl or butyl nitrite. Alpha blocker medications used to treat an enlarged prostate may cause your blood pressure to get too low. Do not take this drug with any other drug that contains tadalafil or medications for erectile dysfunction. Always discuss all the medications you take with your doctor before starting Adcirca.
