Arnuity Ellipta is a prescription medication that is used to prevent asthma attacks. Arnuity Ellipta contains the corticosteroid fluticasone. Fluticasone works by preventing substances in the body that cause inflammation from being released. Arnuity Ellipta is not a rescue inhaler and will not work fast enough to treat an asthma attack in progress.

• Arnuity Ellipta is a powder medication that comes with an inhaler device preloaded with medication.
• Each time you use your Arnuity Ellipta, the device loads a blister of medication.
• Rinse your mouth out with water after using your inhaler to prevent a yeast infection.
• This inhaler does not require a spacer device.
• Arnuity Ellipta is not a rescue inhaler and will not work fast enough to treat an asthma attack in progress.
• While taking Arnuity Ellipta, wear a medical tag, or carry an ID card that you use this medication.
• Do not stop taking this medication suddenly as this may worsen your condition.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• About your drug and other allergies
• If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications
• Your medical history particularly of tuberculosis, herpes infections of the eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, liver disease, low bone mineral density, weak immune system, or any infection.
• If you are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• If you are breast-feeding

You should also know:

• Long-term use of corticosteroids may cause osteoporosis. This is more likely if you have a family history of osteoporosis, if you smoke, do not exercise, or do not get enough calcium or vitamin D.
• This medication may weaken your immune system. Avoid people that are sick or have infections. You’re your doctor if you are exposed to measles or chickenpox.

Common side effects of Arnuity Ellipta include but are not limited to:

• Headaches.
• Nausea or vomiting.
• Upset stomach.
• Chest tightness, coughing, or wheezing.
• White patches or sores on the lips or inside the mouth.
• Deepened voice or hoarseness.
• Low fever.
• Signs of a cold including sore throat, sinus pain, sneezing, or stuffy nose.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of fluticasone furoate:

• Worsening of asthma symptoms.
• Breathing problems including wheezing or choking.
• Eye pain or vision changes including blurred vision, tunnel vision, or seeing halos around lights.
• Nausea or vomiting.
• Feeling weak, tired, or like you might pass out.
• Slowed growth rate in children.
• Signs of a liver problem including dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice, loss of appetite, or upper stomach pain.
• Signs of blood vessel inflammation including stomach pain, weight loss, chest pain, skin rash, fever, cough, severe tingling, or numbness.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Arnuity Ellipta?

If you miss a dose of Arnuity Ellipta, you should use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

Arnuity Ellipta is available in strengths of 100mcg and 200mcg.
