What is Brilinta?

Brilinta is used alongside low-dose aspirin to help prevent heart attack and stroke in people who have heart problems and to prevent blood clots after surgery. Brilinta contains ticagrelor which is an antiplatelet medication and works by blocking platelets from forming blood clots by sticking together.

• Fainting or dizziness.
• Red or purple spots under your skin.
• Nosebleeds or other bleeding which will not stop.
• Shortness of breath, even with mild exertion or while lying down.
• Easy bruising or unusual bleeding.
• Black, bloody or tarry stools.
• Red, pink or brown urine.
• Coughing up blood or vomit which looks like coffee grounds.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or a swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Brilinta?

If you miss a dose of Brilinta, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
