Topical Cleocin T Gel is used to treat pimples (acne). It functions by reducing swelling and slowing or preventing the growth of acne-causing bacteria.

Apply topical Cleocin T gel as prescribed. Pay close attention to the instructions on your prescription label. It is required to apply to the skin only. Usually, the gel is used once daily. Apply topical Cleocin T gel daily at around the same time. Apply a thin layer to the skin where acne develops once or twice daily. Use just enough to cover the entire affected area gently. Do not use more, less, or more frequently than advised by your doctor.

Before Taking Cleocin T Gel,

• Discuss your medical history and allergies with your healthcare provider.
• Do not use coverings (bandages, dressings, make-up) unless told to do so by the doctor. It may take several weeks to see the full effects.
• Talk with your doctor before you use other drugs or products on your skin.
• A severe form of C diff-associated diarrhea (CDAD) has happened with most antibiotics. Sometimes, this can be deadly. It may happen while using the antibiotic or within a few months after you stop using it. Call your doctor immediately if you have stomach pain or cramps, loose or watery stools, or bloody stools. Only try to treat diarrhea after first checking with your doctor.
• This medicine may cause harm if swallowed. Call a doctor or poison control center immediately if Cleocin T Gel is swallowed.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breastfeeding. You must discuss the benefits and risks to you and the baby.

Cleocin T Gel may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

• dry or peeling skin
• itching or burning skin
• redness of skin
• oily skin
• new pimples or blemishes
• headache

Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

• diarrhea
• watery or bloody stools
• stomach cramps

Cleocin T Gel may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while using this medication.

What else should you be aware of when taking Cleocin-T Gel?

• Do not apply for other prescription medicines when you apply Cleocin-T gel.
• Some cosmetics may cause your acne to get worse or cause Cleocin-T gel to irritate your skin. Use only water-based cosmetics.
• Wear sunscreen. Cleocin-T gel may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Do not use sunlamps or tanning beds.
• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
