Edarbyclor is a prescription medication that is used to treat high blood pressure. Edarbyclor is a combination medication that contains azilsartan and chlorthalidone. Azilsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) medication and chlorthalidone prevents your body from absorbing excess salt.

Make sure to always read the patient information and instructions before using this medication. Always follow your doctor’s directions.

• Edarbyclor can be taken with or without food.
• Your doctor may want to check your blood pressure and kidney function regularly.
• Continue taking Edarbyclor even when you feel better. You may need to take blood pressure medication for the rest of your life.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• About your drug and other allergies.
• If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications.
• Your medical history particularly of kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease, heart disease, stroke, gout, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration or if you are unable to urinate.

You should also know:

• Edarbyclor should not be used by anyone younger than 18.
• This medication should not be used during pregnancy as it can cause injury or death to an unborn baby when taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy.
• Do not breast-feed while taking Edarbyclor.

Common side effects of Edarbyclor include but are not limited to:

• Dizziness.
• Tiredness.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Edarbyclor.

• Shortness of breath.
• Feeling like you might pass out.
• Swelling or weight gain.
• Little or no urination.
• Signs of an electrolyte imbalance including fast heart rate, seizures, confusion, constipation, extreme thirst, drowsiness, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, muscle pain or weakness.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Edarbyclor?

If you miss a dose of Edarbyclor, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

Edarbyclor is available in strengths of 40mg/25mg and 40mg/12.5mg.
