Entresto is a prescription medication that is used to treat high blood pressure to lower the risk of hospitalization for people with chronic heart failure. Entresto is a combination medication that contains sacubitril and valsartan and works by increasing the levels of proteins in the body that widen blood vessels.

• Entresto can be taken with or without food.
• Take Entresto at the same time each day.
• Your blood pressure and kidney function may need to be regularly checked while taking Entresto.

• Do not use salt substitutes or potassium supplements unless directed by your doctor.

Common side effects of Entresto include but are not limited to:

• Dizziness
• Coughing

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Entresto:

• Extreme tiredness
• Feeling lightheaded or like you might pass out
• Signs of a kidney problem including tiredness, shortness of breath, swelling in the feet or ankles, or urination that is painful, difficult, or less frequent than usual.
• Signs of high potassium such as muscle weakness, weak pulse, tingly feeling, or a slow heart rate.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Entresto?

If you miss a dose of Entresto, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

What is the strength of Entresto?

Entresto and the generic alternative sacubitril/valsartan are available in strengths of 24/26mg and 49/51mg. Only brand name Entresto is available in 97/103mg.
