What is Frova?

Frova is a prescription medication that is used to treat migraine headaches that have already started. Frova contains frovatriptan and works by narrowing the blood vessels around the brain. Frova will only treat migraines that have started and will not reduce the frequency of future migraine headaches.

Make sure to always read the patient information and instructions before using this medication. Always follow your doctor’s directions.

  • Frova should be taken with a full glass of water at the first sign of a headache.
  • If your migraine comes back after a first tablet, take a second tablet 2 hours later.
  • Do not take more than 3 tablets of Frova within a 24-hour period.
  • Do not take frovatriptan within 24 hours of using any other migraine medication.
  • Speak to your doctor if the initial dose of Frova does not completely stop your headache.
