Isopto Carpine Eye Drops is a prescription medication that is used to treat conditions involving high pressure inside the eye including glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Isopto Carpine Eye Drops contain pilocarpine and works by decreasing the amount of fluid in the eye and causing the eye pupil to decrease in size.

Make sure to always read the patient information and instructions before using this medication. Always follow your doctor’s directions.

  • Wash your hands and remove contact lenses before applying this medication.
  • Tip your head backwards slightly and pull down your lower eyelid with your finger. Look away from the dropper and squeeze out a single drop. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes and use your finger to prevent liquid from draining into the eye duct. Repeat for the other eye if needed.
  • Wash your hands after using, and use a tissue to remove any liquid around the eye.
  • Wait at least five minutes before applying any other eye medication.
  • Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or let it touch any surface to prevent contamination.
  • Wait at least 15 minutes before putting in contact lenses.
