Keflex is a prescription medication that is used to treat bacterial infections. Keflex contains cephalexin and can be prescribed to treat infections including ear infections, urinary tract infections, bone infections, skin infections, and upper respiratory infections. Keflex works by fighting bacteria within your body.

• Seizures
• Easier bruising or unusual bleeding
• Unusual tiredness
• Shortness of breath
• Lightheadedness
• Pale skin or cold hands and feet
• Dark-colored urine
• Painful urination
• Pain in your side or lower back
• Red or purple spots under your skin
• Severe stomach pain
• Watery or bloody diarrhea that occurs months after your final dose
• Jaundice
• Fever
• Weakness
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or swelling in your face, lips or throat

What should I do if I miss a dose of Keflex?

If you miss a dose of Keflex, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

What is the strength of Keflex?

Both Keflex and the generic alternative cephalexin are available in strengths of 250mg and 500mg.
