Optivar Eye Drops to treat itching of the eye caused by a condition known as allergic conjunctivitis. It works by preventing the effects of certain inflammatory substances produced in your eyes and sometimes cause allergic reactions.

Use Optivar Eye Drops in the affected eye(s) as your doctor directs, usually twice daily. To apply Optivar Eye Drops, wash your hands first. Please do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination.

Tilt your head back, look upward, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and place one drop into the pouch. Look downward, gently close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. It will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye. Repeat these steps if your dose is for more than one drop. Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use.

Use Optivar Eye Drops regularly to get the most benefit from them. To help you remember, use it at the same times each day.

  Certain medicines should not be used at or around the time of eating certain types of food since interactions may occur. 

Common side effects of Optivar Eye Drops may include:

• Blurred vision (temporary),
• Headache or
• A bitter taste in your mouth.
