What is Spiriva Respimat?

Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) is an inhaler used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and symptoms including chest tightness, wheezing, coughing or shortness of breath. Tiotropium works by opening and relaxing air passages in order to make breathing easier.

Common side effects of Spiriva Respimat include but are not limited to:

• Dry mouth.
• Upset stomach.
• Blurred vision.
• Painful urination.
• Constipation.
• Cold symptoms including sore throat, sinus pain, stuffy nose or runny nose.
• Chest pain or fast heart rate.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of Spiriva Respimat:

• Wheezing, choking or other breathing problems after use.
• Sores or white patches on your tongue, mouth or lips.
• Eye pain or redness, blurred vision or seeing halos around lights.
• Little, no, painful or burning urination.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives or a swelling in your face, lips or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Spiriva Respimat?

If you miss a dose of Spiriva Respimat, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose. Do not use Spiriva more than twice in a 24 hour period.
