Synalar gel lessens swelling, itching, and redness while treating various skin disorders, including eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and rashes. 

While on Synalar gel, use it as specified on the label. Read all drug guides or instruction sheets and adhere to all instructions on your prescription label.

Apply topical medications on the skin only.
Unless you're using Synalargel to treat the skin on your hands, you should wash your hands before and after taking the medication.

Gently rub a thin layer of Synalar gel onto the afflicted skin. If your skin is being treated, avoid covering it with a bandage or other covering.

Before taking Synalar Gel, inform your physician and pharmacist if you have any allergies to it, other drugs, peanuts, or any of the substances in topical Synalar Gel products. Or if you have diabetes, Cushing's syndrome, other skin issues, or skin infections. Or if you are nursing a baby or anticipating becoming pregnant. Call your doctor right away if you find out you're pregnant while using Synalar Gel.

Common side effects of Synalar gel may include:

• Inflammation, burning, or itchiness of the treated skin;
• Rapid hair growth;
• The skin's look is white or "pruned";
• Acne, a rash; or
• Skin color changes after treatment.

If you have any of the following symptoms of an allergic response to Synalar gel: hives, trouble breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, get emergency medical attention.

Can I use Synalar gel on my face?

What happens if you use too much Synalar gel?

Using too much Synalar gel, especially if you use it on a large body surface for a long time, can cause your body to absorb more of the medication. 

Common symptoms include:

• Higher body temperature.
• A rounder face.
• More fat on the shoulders or stomach.
• Stretch marks.
• High blood sugar levels.
