Vigamox Solution is a prescription medication that is used to treat bacterial infections in the eye. Vigamox Solution contains the fluoroquinolone antibiotic moxifloxacin and works by fighting bacteria within the eye. Vigamox should only be used to treat bacterial infections and will not work to treat viral or fungal infections.

• Wash your hands and remove contact lenses before applying this medication.
• Tip your head backward and use your finger to pull down your lower eyelid. Hold the eyedropper directly above the eye, look away and squeeze out a single drop. Keep your eyes closed for 2-3 minutes and press your finger to the tear duct to prevent liquid from draining away.
• If you need to use more than one drop of this medication, wait around five minutes before between drops.
• If you use any other eye medications, wait at least ten minutes before applying them.
• Do not touch the tip of the eyedropper to prevent contamination.
• Use Vigamox Solution for the full amount of time prescribed, even if your symptoms improve.
• Do not use this medication if the liquid has visible particles or has changed color.

You should also know:

• Mild eye irritation, itching, or redness.
• Dry or watery eyes.
• Blurred vision.
• Fever, sore throat, cough, or runny nose.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of moxifloxacin:

• Severe eye irritation, stinging, or burning.
• Signs of an eye infection including eye drainage, crusting, swelling, redness, or discomfort.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Vigamox Solution?

If you miss a dose of Vigamox Solution, you should apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
