Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of allopurinol:

• New or worsening joint pain.
• Painful urination.
• Chest pain or pressure.
• Swollen glands.
• Large weight gain, swelling in the arms or legs, or shortness of breath.
• Eye irritation or vision changes.
• Signs of a kidney problem including changes to your amount of urine, difficulty urinating, bloody urine, or large weight gain.
• Signs of a kidney stone such as bloody urine or pain in the belly or back.
• Signs of a severe skin reaction including red, blistered, swollen or peeling skin, fever, eye irritation, or sores on the mouth, throat, nose, or eyes.
• Signs of a liver problem including dark urine, stomach pain, upset stomach, clay-colored stools, tiredness, loss of appetite, vomiting, or jaundice.
• Signs of a low blood cell count including fever, sore throat, chills, severe tiredness, weakness, or unexplained bleeding or bruising.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Zyloprim?

If you miss a dose of Zyloprim, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.
