Tadalafil (Generic) is a generic drug used to treat male erectile dysfunction (impotence). It is manufactured by licensed generic manufacturers. This product DOES NOT originate from Eli Lilly and Company and IS NOT authorized by Eli Lilly and Company, the owner and maker of the branded Cialis prescription pharmaceutical product.
Description

Cialis is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction and the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). Cialis works by relaxing smooth muscles in blood vessels, allowing for increased blood flow that helps some men achieve an erection.  Cialis lasts longer than other ED drugs, and can be effective for up to 36 hours.

Directions

Always follow your doctor’s instructions when taking Cialis. Never change dosage before consulting a healthcare professional.

Cialis for Use as Needed

  • Can be taken with or without food.
  • Recommended starting dose is 10 mg, to be taken prior to sexual activity.
  • Your doctor may increase the dose to 20 mg or decrease to 5 mg, depending on its effect and any side effects you may experience.
  • Do not take more than once per day.
  • Cialis may remain effective for up to 36 hours.

Cialis for Daily Use

  • Taken at approximately the same time each day, regardless of sexual activity.
  • Recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg, but may be increased to 5 mg depending on its effect and any side effects you may experience.
Cautions

Cialis is not a recreational drug, and does not enhance sexual performance in men who don’t experience erectile dysfunction.

Do not take Cialis if you also use:

  • Nitrate drugs for chest pain or heart problems including nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate, or amyl nitrate “poppers”
  • Riociguat for pulmonary arterial hypertension

Before prescribing Cialis, your doctor will perform a cardiac workup to ensure your heart is healthy enough to engage in sexual activity. Be sure to inform your doctor of your full medical history, especially:

  • Heart disease, chest pain, or irregular heartbeat
  • Heart attack or stroke
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Vision loss or retinitis pigmentosa
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Stomach ulcers
  • Peyronie’s disease
  • Blood cell disorders (sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, lukemia)
  • An erection that lasted more than 4 hours
  • Any health issue that makes sexual activity unsafe
Side Effects

Common side effects of Cialis include:

  • Headache
  • Flushing in the face and neck
  • Muscle pain in back, arms or legs
  • Stuffy or runny nose
  • Nausea and indigestion

Stop using Cialis and contact your doctor if you experience these more serious side effects:

  • Feeling light-headed or fainting
  • Symptoms of heart attack: chest pain, pain spreading to jaw or shoulder, nausea, sweating
  • Erection that’s painful or lasts more than 4 hours
  • Changes in vision or vision loss
  • Hearing problems or ringing in ears
  • Shortness of breath

If you have nausea, chest pain, or dizziness during sex, seek immediate medical attention.

FAQs

Why is Cialis prescribed?

Cialis helps men with erectile dysfunction to achieve and sustain an erection. It is one of several drugs that may be prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction.

Is Cialis dangerous?

Cialis is FDA approved, and considered safe for most men to take. Cialis may be dangerous for men with a heart condition or those taking nitrate drugs.

How long does Cialis last?

Cialis can be effective for up to 36 hours.

How long does Cialis take to work?

Cialis should take effect in 30-45 minutes. If you take Cialis for Daily Use, there is no need to time your dose based on sexual activity.

What does Cialis do to the body?

Cialis blocks an enzyme called PDE5. This allows muscles in the walls of blood vessels to relax, increasing blood flow that’s required to achieve and sustain an erection.

Should I take Cialis instead of Viagra?

Cialis and Viagra are both PDE5 inhibitors used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. Advantages to taking Cialis include:

  • Can be taken once daily at a low dose (2.5-5 mg/day)
  • A single dose of Cialis can last up to 36 hours. This allows for more spontaneity than Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs

How many times a day can I take Cialis?

Cialis should not be taken more than once daily. A 10 mg or 20 mg dose should be taken 30 minutes before sexual activity, and can remain effective for up to 36 hours. If you take a 2.5 mg or 5 mg dose, take it once daily at the same time.

Will Cialis affect my blood pressure?

Cialis can lower your blood pressure. Men who currently have low or high blood pressure should consult their doctor before taking Cialis. If you use nitrate drugs to treat chest pain, taking Cialis can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Do I need a prescription to buy Cialis?

As of now, yes. But Cialis may soon become available as an over-the-counter drug.

How does Cialis for Daily Use work?

Cialis for Daily Use is a good option for men who engage in sex more than twice weekly. By taking a lower dose of Cialis (2.5-5 mg) each day, the drug builds up in the body and allows for more spontaneous sexual activity. Take your dose at the same time each day, with or without food. It may take 4-5 days for Cialis for Daily Use to take effect.

What side effects can I expect?

The most common side effects of Cialis are headache, nausea, indigestion, pain (in the back, muscles, and extremities), flushing, and stuffy nose.

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience these more serious side effects: vision changes, light-headedness or fainting, painful or prolonged erection, heart attack symptoms.

What's the difference between generic drugs and brand name drugs?

What's the difference between the branded products you sell and the ones I get locally?
The branded drugs we sell are chemically and therapeutically no different from the ones you get in your local pharmacy. They both generally come from the same exact manufacturer. Generally, the main difference* is in the packaging and the price. Our packaging may be different from what you get locally, but we're also much cheaper.

* Other differences may include differences in trade name, form, and general appearance.

Why are there packaging differences?
Due to differences in government regulation, different countries have different packaging requirements. For example, a product in Canada (or any other country) will have different packaging than the same product in the US even though both drugs are chemically and therapeutically equivalent and are generally manufactured by the same exact company.

Why are your drugs so much cheaper?
Due to government price controls, medications from Canada and many other countries are often significantly cheaper than in the United States. Also, other countries may have more affordable generic versions of drugs, which may not yet be available in the US.
